The following facilities are available at our retirement villages:
  • Frail Care Centre.
  • Kitchen and dining hall that provides well-balanced midday meals, six days per week. On public holidays there will be take-away meals available.
  • 24-Hour access control and additional guarding and patrolling at night.

Dining Hall

The dining hall offers well-balanced and healthy midday meals at a reasonable cost, except on Saturdays and public holidays, where take-away meals will be provided. Social functions are held on a regular basis in the Dining Hall, i.e. Valentine’s Dinners, Father’s Day Lunch, Mother’s Day Lunch, outside braai at the lapa, soup and sherry social, tea parties, Christmas Dinner, etc.

Frail Care Centre

Our frail care centre at Protea Retirement Village Centurion offers 24-hour loving care and nursing, with a warm, hygienic and homely atmosphere at reasonable daily tariffs.  Short- and long-term accommodation is available for residents.

Out-patients are also welcome at the frail care centre. Entrust your loved ones to our care during holidays or other occasions. We offer complete peace of mind to you and your family. Your health is important to us.

The Unitas Hospital and the 1 Military Hospital and pharmacies are situated in close proximity to the Protea Retirement Village Centurion.

Safety and Security

We offer strict 24-hour entry control with only one entrance to the security village. We also have security personnel that patrol the villages at night. The perimeter of the Villages is enclosed with an electric security fence and the security efforts are monitored by a highly accredited security company and armed response unit.

Each unit in the retirement villages is provided with a remote controlled panic button. When used, it is registered at the Security Office and Frail Care Centre that assistance is needed at the unit.

The safety of the Residents is one of the villages major priorities and we strive to guarantee a peaceful and safe reside in the villages.

Social

We offer the following activities at the security villages:

  • Special lunches, guest speakers and entertainment;
  • Socials;
  • Movie and music evenings;
  • Excursions to theatres, garden expos, and more;

Purchasing a Unit

Units are sold by and on behalf of the Developer on a life-right basis at Protea Retirement Village Centurion.  Each unit is individually priced and the price depends on the size of the unit, the extra features it has etc.  Sectional title units can also be purchased from private owners in all the Villages.  If purchased from a private owner, the price excludes the transfer costs and sales commission. It excludes the cost of registering a bond. 

Monthly Levy

There is a monthly levy, payable in advance, which is done by means of a debit order. The levy amount is determined on approval of the budget for the ensuing year at the Annual General Meeting.

The levy includes the following:

  • Water, sewerage, refuse removal and communal electricity;
  • 24 Hour access control and additional nightly guarding and patrolling services;
  • Weekly domestic cleaning and gardening service to the units
  • Maintenance of the outside of the units and all the communal areas and gardens;
  • Insurance of all structures including geysers;
  • 10 Weekday midday meals per month
  • Transport to the shops twice weekly;
  • Administration of Village matters including collecting of levies etc.;
  • Management of the Village;
  • Monthly accounting and bookkeeping services.
    Rates and Property Taxes

    There is a monthly amount payable to the Council for property taxes. This is determined by the Council and is based on the value of the unit.

    Electricity

    Electrical consumption is metered monthly by management and is payable to the Protea Retirement Village Centurion. The amount payable appears on the levy statement handed out monthly.

    Frail Care

    The use of the Frail Care Centre is charged for separately and the cost is over and above that discussed above. Residents do have a cost advantage as they pay substantially less than outside patients. Cost of Frail Care can be obtained by contacting the administration office at the Village.

    Security

    We offer strict 24-hour entry control at our retirement villages with only one entrance and security that patrols the village at night. The villages are surrounded by a security fence as well as an electric fence on top of this. The security of the villages is managed by a highly efficient security company with armed reaction. Each unit is equipped with a remote-controlled panic button; when used, it will register at the security and care centre, where the necessary support will immediately be provided. The safety of our residents is of utmost importance to us and we are constantly striving to improve this, to offer them a safe environment in these villages.
